What colleges (or even state/cities) are quirky? a good environment for creative people?
I am looking at colleges and location is not an issue. I am a very “out-the-box” creative, strange, weird, whatever you’d like to call it person. I’d like to know about states/ cities/ colleges/ universities/ would be a good fit for me. Hopefully these cities have a decent subculture movement, lots of small business, museums, theatres, and music.I’d like to avoid Bible-Thumpers and over-commercialized phony mentalities. A place that is accepting of people for who they are, and is very creative and eco-friendly would be great. Weather isn’t a big deal. I’ve looked at Austin TX, NY NY, Baltimore, MD, Chicago IL, New Orleans LA and a host of liberal arts school. Also cities/states to avoid are just as helpful as those to look at. thanks =]
I don’t actually go there, so I can’t provide like personal information, but my really good friend goes to the University of Vermont. She is a vegan and very environmentally conscious. I also know that she applied to live in a dormitory that was completely green/eco-friendly. I think they actually call it the “Green-House.” The school is also very artsy and creative too, according to her.
Hope this helps!
