Is it possible to network two laptops without a router, and be able to remotely access the second drive?

In my car I use a computer laptop for several jobs, including mapping and playback of music videos. I would add a second, with 15 "projection screen high definition as the main, a wireless keyboard with mouse control pad. This would allow customers to choose their own videos to read. I have wireless broadband Sprint on my Sony, so I want the second laptop to access remotely via Internet. Right now I have 3,000 videos. A taxi in Austin 14,000 videos, but uses a desktop computer into a full-size truck with the top and extended pole dance.

As the two laptops with Ethernet ports, you can use Internet Connection Sharing on a card with Sprint. The second unit is connected via an Ethernet crossover cable for the first unit and would able to access the Internet. There are several good articles on the use of the Internet connection with a "wireless network card, which is what you want .. http://www.practicallynetworked.com/sharing/xp_ics/ is someone who has been doing it for me. Good luck.
