Advertising career?
I am interested in pursuing a career in graphic design, but I'm mainly in the areas of advertising. I peripherals for my career before starting school to have a good idea what the hell I'm doing, and if I really want to do. Some things you should know: 1. How is the market looking? I know that advertising on the Internet is enormous at the time but nothing that could transform the market? It is the current state of the economy and fears of a recession in making agencies for advertising or general area? 2. How do you earn a salary of entry-level position? 3. What is the best way to enter the field? 4. What kind of skills that would be "helpful" to a company, besides being "good" as what employers are looking for? 5. Are there agencies in Austin, Texas area? Any and all advice and assistance would be greatly appreciated! Thank you. =)
Industry Advertising in general is a very competitive market. If not already, get an internship. It will help you contact will have to enter the industry and organizations to find someone with the job placement agency, even if you take a free course is worthwhile in the long-term career. To design, create and continue to grow in a portfolio. Create "ads" Mock labeled as such. It shows you're really interested in employers in the area, while demonstrating their creativity. For advertising agencies everywhere, the first place you go is AAF.org, you can join your local network and output. The meetings are a great way to meet professionals and request an informational interview with people in position at the end and ask them how they started. Almost everyone in the industry remember how hard of a time they start and be ready to steer in the right direction. This industry is very much about you know when it starts for your professional contacts, internships, attend school AAF (American Advertising Federation). The debut of the compensation as a designer is not so great memories offered a position with a large advertising agencies in the country in New York and offered less than $ 25,000 and was in circulation (normally "not creative" input channel career in advertising), the beginning more creative, less than that. It is only from the perspective of advertising agencies. There is a lot of career opportunities out there, but for designers (newspapers, magazines, etc.) Salary.com is usually a good starting point for the figures find racing industry averages, talk to your school counselor should be able to give more precise in their region.
