how students come to school Austin High School in Decatur, AL.?
there are areas of Decatur, Alabama, who have no bus routes. working parents can not afford to send their children to school. a school system does not have to provide transportation? is dangerous, even if the school is within walking distance. it is a crime waiting to happen, is not it.
In Illinois, if you live 1.5 miles or more from school can not take the bus. 1.5 miles is a distance long for anyone to have to walk, especially children. Many people bring their children to school. I think schools have an obligation to provide children with safe alterative school. But apparently, nor most of the districts or the federal government, see the same way.
