A small country in central Austin
Whether you're a newcomer to Austin or a long time resident, you owe it to yourself to spend some time Town Lake Metropolitan Park. This hidden gem is located just outside of downtown Austin, where it hugs the banks of the Tom Miller Dam Colorado River in western Colorado River Park to the east. It offers a wonderful contrast to the bustle of urban life, a sort of oasis in a busy world just minutes from downtown.
Whatever recreational interests, Lake City for all tastes.
Organized sports and recreation
Town Lake Park boasts 17 ball fields for baseball, football, soccer, rugby and volleyball. If you love water sports, rowing Dock offers rentals for various types of ships and the promotion of the rowing club. The north side of park has tennis courts Austin. Also in this part of the park is the Deep Eddy Pool in Eilers Park.
In Zilker Park, Barton favorite swimming Pool Creek, a spring fed pool of over 1,000 feet long.
Hiking
This park contains 10.1 miles of hiking and biking is the wind around the lake, or to divert to other routes from Austin. A favorite trailer is 8.5 miles from Lake hike and bike trail, the shade around the lobby, restrooms, benches and fountains. There are three pedestrian bridges that can be used to cross the lake on foot as well.
Entertainment And Events
The south side of Lake City is known as Auditorium Shores, the home of many concerts and large events. Many roads around the lake carry lively restaurants with good food, outdoor patios and music. Also on this side are Umlauf Sculpture Gardens, named after the famous artist Charles Umlauf, and Botanical Gardens Zilker Hillside Theatre. The oldest professional theater in Central Texas, the Zachary Scott Theater, offers a wide range of productions of Dream Girls in the misery of Stephen King.

Other features
The area around Deep Eddy Pool includes the rental of cabins, food stands and a Ferris wheel. Lake City is also an excellent place to observe wildlife. There are resident swans, ducks and turtles. Make sure children are going to take a ride on the miniature train.
Whether you're biking, jogging, rowing, or simply sit back and enjoy the scenery, the Lake City Park is a must.
