What kind of bird is this?
I know this is not a crane, Road Runner, Wood Pecker and anything else people have responded! I and my sister saw the bird perched on the edge of the road the other day and we had no idea what kind it was. It was 2-3 feet tall, brown and white body, large beak and thick, and as something bright red mohawk. Its size was perhaps as 5 feet. This was a bird's neck and head thickness. When I saw that and thought her body looked like an eagle. The dress of "head" of his head like a rooster, but was 2-3 inches wide and rectanglular more. I live in Texas or in the south between Houston and Austin. My sister said I looked like a toucan more cultured. What is this mysterious bird? I really want to know! bill like a duck-billed
Maybe a duck widgeon wild. Http: / / identify.whatbird.com/obj/430/overview/Fulvous_Whistling-Duck.aspx Added: – Here's another possibility. The brown pelican was my first thought, but as it has a red crest, not propose. It looks a bit like the description of a toucan invaded your sister, so I'll post a picture of him here in case it happens to you looking for. Perhaps he had been beaten by a car and had blood on his head. Really hard to say what it is. I have not been able to find a bird that fits the description. Here is the pelican information.: Http: / / identify.whatbird.com/obj/62/_/Brown_Pelican.aspx
