The Austin Tarrytown and Deep Eddy West
Two areas of Austin, who are also very historic are the district and the district Tarrytown, Deep Eddy, and these two areas are adjacent to each other with Tarrytown being slightly farther north than the bottom Eddy. These areas are in western Travis County, near Lake Austin, which is part of the Colorado River is just west of Lady Bird Lake is called. During the beginning of World War World Texas National Guard used the camp, which was later used for car mechanics training to the military. Currently, the station of the houses of the 136th Regional Training Institute, located in the building of the Texas National Guard Academy. The post celebrated its 100th anniversary of the operation in 1992 and enjoys the distinction of being the third oldest active military installation in Texas. The base was also used for Ministry of safety training Public Schools in the past, and has hosted numerous military dignitaries over the years.
Numerous historic aircraft are displayed at Camp Mabry, and these planes are visible from Loop One of the drivers. Camp Mabry is currently the headquarters of the Military Museum of Texas and has many interesting displays on the screen.
The southern border of Tarrytown is the Deep Eddy area, and its southern boundary is the lake. Deep Eddy area is often referred to as Lake Austin Lake Austin Blvd from. along the southern part of the neighborhood and the Clarksville neighborhood area is east and slightly south of Tarrytown. These three neighborhoods meet around Eilers Park, where the bottom of the pool is Eddy located. The concrete pool at Deep Eddy was built in 1916, and a bathhouse, and Deep Eddy pool outdoor pool is the oldest in Texas.
Deep Eddy was originally a natural swimming hole in the river and is fed by a source. The pool and park are coated on one side of the lake and hiking and cycling routes around Lake along the north coast. Deep Eddy is a popular place for picnics, swimming, wading, and many other family activities, and is surrounded by beautiful oaks, majestic, bananas, and trees that shade of poplar with many sitting in the park.
Occasionally, well known family-oriented films are shown in pool on the weekend nights, called Splash Nights and see the Wizard of Oz or something similar on a Saturday night to a float in the pool with family and friends is a treatment especially for area residents and visitors to the pool.
There are many good restaurants in the Tarrytown and Deep Eddy, including Magnolia Cafe and Maudie, who are both near Deep Eddy, which specialize in products for breakfast and Mexican food favorites respectively. Kerbey Lane Cafe, which is further north, near Camp Mabry reasonably, is in the Tarrytown area, and Zoot, a continental wines pair very appropriately restaurant with spectacular entries, is closer to the edge of Deep Eddy Tarrytown.
There are many beautiful places to live in this old historic area, including homes, apartments, condominiums, and the University of Texas, bedroom, and also many schools, a branch of the library, and excellent medical facilities of the hospital in September. Tarrytown is a must visit region for Austin, or for residents alike!
