How is the housing market in San Antonio or Austin, Texas?

We live in southern California, we have tried to buy a house the year past was very stressful and difficult. Our realtor told us he had done so much harm to buy a house in California that offers people more for a house initial registration. My husband has talked about moving to Texas, I have my doubts because I am unemployed and wondering if things are in Texas, as it is here in California?

Hi, I'm from Austin, and lived in California for many years. Whatever your real estate agent said that last year, I'm sure you already does not apply. Across the country, it is a buyers market now so you can consider this time (with better real estate agent!). With regard to Austin, actually not too humid here – are in a river, but this is only part of the city, and certainly nothing to do with Houston or one of the coastal areas in terms of moisture. I also agree that the houses are poorly constructed – is true in some cases, as elsewhere, but I never call a state by any means. The cost of living is reasonable, and certainly can do much more for your money here than they are in California. Fortunately, there are many very affordable homes for sale. It is a good time to buy. However, I do not want to go here without a job. I do not know what you and your husband for his career, so it will be the determining factor, of course, but no matter what you read in news, our labor market is actually rather dark. With seven colleges nearby, there is too hyper-education people really want to live in Austin, and therefore are willing to take lower-level positions just to stay. Reports of a strong labor market are misleading, because although it may be technically Indeed, you have to take into account that many of the latter is for low-wage jobs at stores and restaurants, which may not be enough to live if you have a family. We have a variety of industry here as elsewhere – is especially the university, the state government, health, technology and price of retail and restaurants. I know many, many unemployed MBA who can not find work for their lives – because why should an employer hire a flat year MBA when you can hire someone who has a master engineering and an MBA? I can not speak on behalf of Dallas or Houston, but since they are larger cities with more variety than it might have better luck there. I love Austin and would welcome anyone here, but this is simply not the right time to come.
