Austin Neighborhood Profiles: Allandale

Allandale is the name of a charming neighborhood in central Austin, although the area was originally considered Northwest Austin, before Austin's expansion in a large metropolitan area. Allandale recently celebrated its 35th anniversary as an active community of central Austin, and the Association Allandale Neighborhood has been a presence in the neighborhood since 1973. Currently, Allandale homes of over 21,000 inhabitants, and two of the district boundaries are the MoPac Expressway and Burnet Road, which forms the border between West and East, respectively.

A popular park of the neighborhood called Beverly Sheffield Park and the park is located next to Shoal Creek, and a beautiful duck pond and a swimming pool. The park also includes picnic sites, grills, playgrounds, tennis courts and a fishing pier, and is a home away from home for children in the region.
